The Factory of Ideas
In 2016 I was allowed to design and furnish the first offices of this successful company. The graphic designer, Christian, was by my side as a sparring partner, and our ideas developed back and forth like a ping-pong match.
The result delighted everyone. So, five years later, I was asked to take care of their seven new offices. Again, alongside Christian.
This time the desire was to visually connect the two floors, but not only. We also wanted to tell the evolution of the company by giving the new spaces an unexpected, renewed, and visionary style.
The idea of the Jungle wallpaper was chosen not by chance. It represents the present and the future of these three successful companies that have specialized in fighting through numbers, wind, and weather, bringing structure and value to the jungle of the World Wide Web.
The challenge of this project also involved the high technical requirements of acoustics and functionality that we have elegantly solved with high-quality materials, a great color palette, and technical elements.
The result is as imaginative as can be, a playful space with an exotic touch, where the geometry of the scheme is enhanced by bold and uplifting details designed to allow ideas to be born freely.
It was extremely interesting for me to work in such an inspiring frame. I am intrigued by the new challenges of this company, and I hope to proudly do my part again.
A Cherry on the Scoop
The extremely nice resident of this apartment in the center of Zurich came to visit us on a spring afternoon in our showroom and it was a feeling right from the start. He got lost in our fabrics and began to be inspired by the curtains and cushions that we had on display.
After a while, love at first sight happened. He saw this fabric with a floral pattern and a winning combination of cold and warm tones that were well suited throughout all the rooms of his apartment.
Shortly after, we took the measurements on-site, studied the best solutions for each room, and then let our sewing studio make roman blinds, classic curtains with tiebacks, and sofa cushions.
The bay window is the focal point of this lovely apartment and has become the cozy corner overlooking the Limmat, ideal for curling up with a book and a cup of tea. It is appropriate to say that curtains here finish off the interior just like the cherry on the scoop.
The Mediterranean Feel
What is more fulfilling than designing the homes you have chosen to flourish and relax? If the last two years have taught us anything it is that our homes can be both the place where we work and our personal oasis where we retreat to rejuvenate and recharge.
In this project by the sea, our main intent was to bring the sea, its colors, and its emotions indoors. We, therefore, opted for blue, white, and shades of sand to bring a calm and serene atmosphere to these spaces and to restore a Mediterranean atmosphere through the fabrics and the furnishing accessories.
The Zurich Apartment
The goal of this project in the heart of Zurich Old Town was to create spaces that were stylish yet timeless, graceful yet with a well-defined personality. There is a play with materials, graphic shapes, pops of color, and fun prints. Everything has been designed to make this home a fun and cheerful space to live in.
Julie came to our shop on a Saturday. Right away I liked her and her soothing charisma. What started with a small purchase ended up in the complete furnishing of her apartment and the extension of its dressing room. Julie likes bright, bold colors. She likes to invite people over and therefore wanted sufficient seating.
I have opted for a mix of a cozy wooden dining table with blush velvet chairs and lots of flexible seating like poufs. The green, blue, and pink color palette, together with the furnishings were intended to reflect Julie’s feminine yet very professional business style. The entrance area with the two wicker chairs, the modern blue dresser, and the special coffee table let the business talk flow. I have carefully selected each piece of furniture. Julie liked my layout from the very first moment and commissioned everything straight away without any changes.
This project is a clear example that it is not necessary to have a hall of many meters to enjoy a pleasant and glamorous setting.
The Modern Flat
The last few months have made me, and a lot of my clients, appreciate the value of our home as a shelter that provides peace and serenity. The apartment at the lake of Bodensee has been a very special project, personalized and tailored. The challenge here was to design a space that was both able to exactly reflect my taste and be easy to rent out furnished.
My main aim was to design a living room flooded with light to bring the vastness and purity of the lake indoors. I therefore chose a light and slightly shiny tiled floor and light-colored furniture. To create contrast, I chose a black coffee table for the living room and a bespoke black open kitchen with brass details. The idea was to combine a welcoming and elegant English style with the modern style of the building. I wanted the bathrooms to become rooms full of elegance in which to feel truly special.
The linen curtains dance softly in the wind and complete the setting, bringing a fresh Mediterranean feel. As a result, I have obtained a sophisticated and elegant space, designed to relax, and regenerate after a long day.
This apartment has evolved as my style has grown and it now hosts everything I like to find in a house. I have really come to understand the building, how best to use the space and how to maximize natural light. I could not resist to add touches of colors, patterns, and a made-to-measure kitchen, too.
The Conor Mc Creedy Showroom
The entrance defines the character and original features of the luxury Conor Mc Creedy’s Showroom. Elegant furnishings and distinctive details have been carefully chosen to visually reflect the artist’s signature.
I had a pure crush on this place, the extraordinary and likable South African is a muse and enlivened our corner of the neighborhood.
His artistry and taste for interiors create an excellent stage to savor and absorb from top to bottom. I met Conor at the store. He is a welcome regular customer: it is an honor to continue delivering pieces to his fantastic home.
An elegant fil-rouge
When projects come from professionals with clear and well-thought-out ideas, the result
undoubtedly tends to perfection.
An unexpected and elegant charm characterizes this splendid Villa. Nothing is left to chance: the mix of colors, patterns, and contemporary accents create something truly original, bringing a new expressive way to experience the relaxing spaces of this home.
Lisa has a rich, pure, and vibrant soul, and I am so grateful to have met her. She has been a client of mine since the beginning of my career. After taking over Van Lynden, she believed in me and gave me the opportunity to make more or less important changes in her house masterfully designed by Jan Willem.
Over the years we have both made fundamental changes by readjusting the spaces to the new structures of life and given some refreshes to indulge his passion for interior design.
In this interior project, each element claims its role in telling a personal story of bold and lively elegance.
The Formentera style Villa
It was their dream home, the one to watch their children growing up. It is a new construction built with first-rate finishes and materials.
In this project we wanted to bet on the classic notes of the Alhambra, so we used a color palette that ranged from warm browns to black and off-white. We also wanted to introduce a contemporary touch of great visual impact, evoking a luxurious hippie style of Formentera, in search of beauty and balance.
Ely and Jeroen are unique personalities and parents of two sweet little children. After a long and tiring construction phase, it was difficult for them to find the energy to focus on the interiors. So they moved in more or less with what they already had.
We all met together in their first home and discussed their dreams and wishes for a long time. It was immediately clear to me that a concept had to be found that could hold up and adapt to the passage of time. At first, they asked me to take care of their curtains, we are currently redesigning the living room and dining room.
It is always an amazing experience to be close to this lovely family, with so much heart, so much honesty and so much style. Chapeau!
What we have achieved are bright spaces wrapped in a neutral and warm palette, embellished with beautiful bespoke curtains. A sophisticated interior project designed to bring a relaxed and Mediterranean atmosphere to the spaces.
The sophisticated Escape
Together with the client, we have redefined the aesthetics of this Swiss apartment with a new and resounding proposal, based on noble materials coated in white.
The lounge room sets the tone for this luxury family home with its clean lines, precious materials, and light airy vibe. Beautiful paneling, bespoke joinery, and stylish furniture create an extraordinary atmosphere that enhances the extraordinary landscape.
An Eden of Home
This house is a perfect representation of the modern style. It was such a joy to deal with its vibrant interior, so unique and different!
This fresh and cool palette of silver, pink and purple make this a place to love. A magnificent, splendid, and colorful interior design, great attention to finishes, materials, and a selection of treasures from the world: this is how Monica and Lesly have dressed their home.
I have rarely met a couple so harmonious, loving, and open. Their ears but first their hearts are open to all people. And for me personally, Lesly is an idol, such a successful and humble person at the same time.
When we first met, they had just moved into this house and what was initially the desire for a new sofa cover ended up being a complete furniture makeover. We, therefore, took all the necessary measures carefully, and then I took care of building a layout with colors, wallpaper, and curtains, and that would find a new location for the existing furniture and their antiques. I immediately understood that Monica loves unique pieces and is open to colors and important motifs in fabrics. Ours was a warm and inspiring collaboration, which continues today with further projects.
The beating heart of the house is the pink kitchen, this room acts as a spectacular observation point. It is so fresh, bright, cheerful, and full of joy. The gorgeous stools and new layout are just the icing on the cake! The rest of the rooms are welcoming, each unique and characterized by good taste.
What we got is a moody and sophisticated Villa with wrap-around deep purple curtains and soft furnishings. A bold and expressive way of enjoying a lounge. A renewed and elegant intensity that reflects the lively soul of its residents.
The Oasis in the Mountains
15 years ago, I was commissioned to completely renovate and furnish a beautiful house. Barbara is a good friend of this client and upon her recommendation, she asked me to take care of this lovely second home in the Graubünden mountains.
We wanted to recreate an environment of total harmony, a refuge where in a few seconds you find yourself in a world of silence and relaxation, leaving the stress of everyday life behind. For the renovation and the technical work, we also consulted an architect. Every single detail, from the bathroom sink to the kitchen and the oven, are fixtures designed by me, whose shape reflects the soul of the customer.
The collaboration with Barbara was unique throughout the project: from our first contact to the planning, beyond the building phase to the assembly of the last curtain, we can look back on many wonderful moments.
Barbara and her husband Thomas appreciate my work so much since then they have entrusted me with several other projects, such as their garden design and now their mahogany boat.
10 years ago, I was commissioned to redesign the entrance area and living room of Michelle’s main house. After that, we took care of renovating the curtains and furniture of her holiday home, and finally, she asked me for a layout for her office in Schonau. Michele is a great photographer, and she wanted her affinity for South Africa to be reflected in the interior of her workplace.
In the open office, I have recreated a lodge look with unique furniture and large curtains by Osborne and Little. Instead of a table and chairs, we have opted for an upholstered corner bench and stunning cushions by my talented designer friend Melinda from The Vale London. As for the wonderful kitchen table, I have designed a specially shaped tabletop.
We have chosen a contrasting palette of deep hues and wildly bold patterns which have brought a dramatic yet atmospheric vibe into these cozy office spaces. The open kitchen, snack, and lounge area have become one with the surrounding environment, acting as a precious frame of this splendid bucolic landscape.
The Lively Flat
In this residence, colors and patterns are protagonists. The original focus was to create a bright, lively space intended to welcome all the family members. Vibrant pops of red, blue, and green were injected into the setting scheme to create a happy atmosphere to function according to the family’s needs.
This house has been designed so that this fantastic family could welcome their children, future grandchildren, and friends. The main goal was for each of them to feel at ease in these spaces: from those who prepare food in the kitchen to those who chat in the living room.
A balanced atmosphere has been achieved, through a mix of classic and vintage furniture, wrapped in high-quality fabrics. To make these interiors bright, comfortable, and chic, we have created a layout that includes unique furniture, special lamps, trendy contemporary curtains by Fermoie, as well as the Dedar seat, and decorative cushions laid on the long bench. I believe I have fulfilled Philip’s primary desire, which was to create a cool and relaxed lounge atmosphere where the family can get together and enjoy an intimate chat.
The clou is the rug I have designed, which emphasizes the colors, highlights the patterns, and sets the scene for the furniture.
The Alpine Chic Escape
Engandine, St. Moritz
A mountain chalet embellished with first-rate traditional craftsmanship and the highest quality British fabrics to achieve the perfect balance of comfort and luxury. A renewed look at the concept of Alpen chic. Everything we would like to find in a cozy estate nestled in the Swiss Alps.
With Nicholas, it is now a consolidated collaboration, and it is always a pleasure for me to return from time to time to his holiday home to find new solutions to bring something new to his warm estate nestled in the Graubünden mountains.
The Restful Bedroom
Swathed in deep blues and gentle hues, this supremely restful bedroom has been designed to provide a serene, soothing, and elegant atmosphere for the moment of rest. The bespoke headboard and the graphic shapes give a distinctive yet relaxed flair to the entire setting.
Melanie contacted me on Mila’s recommendation. She wanted to make her daughter’s nursery a little more girly and she longed for a walk-in wardrobe. When I visited her on-the-spot, I have immediately fallen in love with her personality. She has such a lovely and warm soul.
We have listened to their wishes and worked out a harmonious layout in Cloe’s favorite colors. A bling bling wallpaper and a princess bed. A cozy sofa with rounded shapes. Melanie immediately liked the setting, and the little girl knew exactly what she wanted.
The Classy Jewel
I met Tina in our showroom many years ago. She had just moved to Zurich to a house she had furnished from Finland. Unfortunately, she was not satisfied with her interior choice. Therefore, she invited me to visit her new home. She initially hired me to take care of the guest bedroom, but she promised to renovate the rest of the house later.
A few years later I took care of the restyling of the rest of her residence, and, in the meantime, a real friendship was born between us.
The layout we came up with was a dream of soft blue tones mixed with antiques and art. I designed the sofas and made them in a small upholstery factory in London. We have granted her greatest wish by installing a bench by the window where she loves to sit and sip her morning tea while watching the birds dance in her garden.
The beautifully draped fringed curtains have been tied with elegant tassels and rounded off perfectly with Roman blinds.
The result we have achieved is a place of effortless class, an elegant metamorphosis in which fabrics, contemporary art, and the blend of antique furniture have been the key.
The Design Flat
A renovated apartment in Poland combining family memories and design furniture. A linear chromatic project, where the harmony of the interiors is given by the skillful use of shades and the mix of textures and materials.
This project was a pleasant and fun challenge that we accepted with the best of our enthusiasm.
Right from the start, I realized that the owners of this house had very clear in mind what they liked, as well as being people with a refined penchant for design and exceptional aesthetic taste. Working for them was an engaging and enriching experience, as was seeing this effortless yet classy project come to life.
The Sophisticated Apartment
One step into the grand salon and the luxurious interiors open wide and welcome the eye with an extraordinary palette of neutral colors bathed in soft, natural light. The immediate sensation is that of the invitation; the spacious, yet intimate interior invites its guests to come in and stay for a while.
The intent here was to transfer the rich and welcoming soul of the residents into the interiors of this house. We, therefore, created a layout in which the furniture, curtains, and soft furnishings play with each other and tell the best of the past, present, and future of this wonderful family.
The Family Home
A sense of harmony and continuity now characterizes this classy home. This unforgettable interior project mainly consisted of a simplification process that led us to maximize the sophisticated aesthetics of this home.
This extremely nice couple contacted me via a recommendation. My job was to help packing the furniture of their magnificent mansion into boxes and bring the same breathtaking atmosphere to their new apartment.
Their desire was to shrink and make their life easier with their advancing years. I did not even know where to start, it was very difficult to choose between all these magnificent pieces and put them on stage in the new house. But the collaboration was so enjoyable and the two of them so delightfully engaging that we quickly came up with a great layout.
In the new home, we have designed a custom red brick bookcase that plays with Asian antiques and introduced the new off-white herringbone curtains. The fabrics, the contemporary and classy sofas, the new soft furnishings, the new lamps, and the lampshades, each of them has acquired a renewed role in this significant play of elements.
The Second Home
The seal, the most special thing that defines a home, is the people who live there. I got to know and appreciate Holly, an American interior designer, during a fun chat in the shop. Shortly after, she introduced me to Brigitte and it was the beginning of a friendship, built on trust and love for detail.
Brigitte and Holly, who unfortunately soon had to return to the USA, commissioned me to support them in the planning and realization of the interior design and furnishings. It was the beginning of a really fun job carried out with a lot of heart.
The duplex apartment is an oasis in the middle of the city, a real pearl. Here nothing has been left to chance, the built-in wardrobes, the doors, the bathrooms, everything has been designed and cared for down to the smallest detail.
Each room here was a treasure trove of collected objects, fascinating art, and joyful stories. The goal was to convey the vibrant and creative soul of this beautiful home through a playful mix of colors, fun patterns, and bespoke furniture.
