The Modern Flat
Bodensee
The last few months have made me, and a lot of my clients, appreciate the value of our home as a shelter that provides peace and serenity. The apartment at the lake of Bodensee has been a very special project, personalized and tailored. The challenge here was to design a space that was both able to exactly reflect my taste and be easy to rent out furnished.
My main aim was to design a living room flooded with light to bring the vastness and purity of the lake indoors. I therefore chose a light and slightly shiny tiled floor and light-colored furniture. To create contrast, I chose a black coffee table for the living room and a bespoke black open kitchen with brass details. The idea was to combine a welcoming and elegant English style with the modern style of the building. I wanted the bathrooms to become rooms full of elegance in which to feel truly special.
The linen curtains dance softly in the wind and complete the setting, bringing a fresh Mediterranean feel. As a result, I have obtained a sophisticated and elegant space, designed to relax, and regenerate after a long day.
This apartment has evolved as my style has grown and it now hosts everything I like to find in a house. I have really come to understand the building, how best to use the space and how to maximize natural light. I could not resist to add touches of colors, patterns, and a made-to-measure kitchen, too.
